We're so grateful to everyone who has fundraised to support our work to improve lives through boccia! Here are some of the stories of our fabulous fundraisers...

Graham Judge, took on the London Vitality Fun Run with his granddaughter and her partner in May 2022, and raised £310 for Boccia England! Graham was officiating at our Back to Boccia Open competition in Hatfield on the Saturday, ran on the Sunday morning, and was back on court again for 1pm!

England Squad athlete, Jabe Peake, took on the Winter Wonderwheels course in December 2021 accompanied by Emily Spridgens and raised a phenomenal £505! They cycled around the 10km course in some truly terrible weather conditions!

Sophie Gardiner took on the At Home Winter Wonderwheels challenge in 2021, taking up a throwing challenge over a month and raising over £120! Due to Covid, it was still not safe for Sophie to attend her boccia club so she decided to take on this challenge at home instead. Between her and her team of supporters, the balls were thrown more than 122km! Markers were placed on the floor to measure the distance of each throw.

In September 2021, the Boccia England team took on the Robin Hood Half Marathon and Mini Marathon in Nottingham. Rachael Crack, Natalie Braisby, and Dan Headley ran the half marathon, while Kate Moss, Emma Holmes, and Kate Dewhirst (Jack!) completed the mini marathon (1.5 miles). Between them they raised £525!

In July 2021, our Fundraising Manager Cally Keetley tackled the Peak District Ultra, hiking 100km continuously over 27 hours! There was a lot of rain and even a couple of thunderstorms but she made it to the end with only one blister, and raised £1,028!

In August 2021, the Boccia Bombers raised £928 through the At Home Superheroes challenge.

Georgina Moore and her carer/boccia coach Tom Isaac set themselves the challenge of throwing boccia balls for a distance of 12km!! This meant throwing 4,000 boccia balls 3m each!! Between them they did this continuously without a break which took them about 8 hours! To give you an idea of how many balls that actually is, have a look at the diagram in the pictures below.

Lisa Hutton, another of Georgina's carers, joined forces with her husband Jimmy and together they ran 24 miles within 24 hours! Another absolutely amazing challenge completed! See below for their before and after pictures!
