Boccia England Awards Boccia Awards The Boccia England Awards are a celebration of sporting achievements. The awards provide a way of recognising and, above all, celebrating the successes of our outstanding athletes, inspirational volunteers, great coaches and officials. This also includes our high-quality clubs across England. 2023 Awards The 2023 Boccia England Awards will take place in the evening of Friday 8th December and will be hosted online via Zoom. The categories this year are: - Club of the year (Member Only) In recognition of a Boccia England Member Club which has shown that they are passionate about impacting the lives of their members and have empowered players, coaches and volunteers to achieve their goals through boccia, whilst promoting inclusivity by creating awelcoming environment for all members. This may be through increasing opportunities, developing members, activity on social media and/or contributing to the local community. - Coach of the Year In recognition of a committed and inspiring coach who has shown that they are focused on empowering the players they support to develop and succeed in boccia. This may be through supporting players to fulfil their full potential, providing support both on and off thecourt and developing players. - Pathway Athlete of the Year (Member Only)* In recognition of a boccia player that is part of the National Talent Development Programme/England Futures programme who has been focused on achieving National Performance Levels. The athlete will have demonstrated both the technical and holistic skills during camps and that are necessary to compete and succeed at domestic and international competitions. - Participation Athlete of the Year (Member Only) In recognition of a boccia athlete who has shown resilience to overcome obstacles or personal difficulties to participate in boccia and are focused on achieving their personal goals in boccia. This may be through taking part in boccia, enjoyment of the sport, developing as an individual or any other personal based achievement. - Volunteer of the Year In recognition of a committed and dedicated official, timekeeper, classifier, forum lead or club volunteer who has shown their passion for boccia and supported the delivery or development of the sport. This may be through volunteering at BE events/ local club, personal progression in their role or supporting the development of other volunteers. - Partner of the Year* This award recognises an organisation that has worked collaboratively with Boccia England providing an outstanding contribution to ensure that everyone can gain a positive experience of boccia. This could be through delivering boccia, raising awareness of our sport, and/or providing financial support to our organisation. - Unsung Hero of Boccia This award recognises an individual who is passionate about our sport and goes the extra mile for boccia without reward to ensure that the people they support can achieve their goals through boccia.
