Over the weekend of 25th and 26th March, we returned to K2 Crawley who hosted the final qualification competition for both the Heathcoat Cup and BE Cup in the 2022-23 season.

The weekend started with the Heathcoat Cup competition which saw 40 athletes come together over 78 matches, to battle it out for the final qualification places available for the Heathcoat Cup Finals in April. We were delighted to welcome a number of athletes who were competing for the very first time.

The final results were as follows:

BC1/2 BC3 BC4/5 BC6 BC8
1st George Keith (BC2) Ted Barnard Peter Langton (BC5) Oliver Hastings Charlotte Carr
2nd Sophie Buckley (BC2) Abbie Hunnisett Sam Alderson (BC5) Tamika Wright Adam Conie
3rd Mayella Coogan (BC2) Hannah Hadley Archie Eaton (BC5) Derek Sked Matthew Elliott

After an action-packed Saturday with many close matches and a number of tie breaks, the action didn’t stop. On Sunday we welcomed the BE Cup players for their last chance to get the magic ‘7’ qualification points they needed to reach the BE Cup Finals, in Sheffield this May.

With so much to play for, for many athletes the standard of competition was very high. After 38 closely contested matches here are the final standings:
