Over the past year we worked with creative digital agency Rocca Creative to produce a brand-new online competition system, which has been named CompeteBoccia.

The new online competition system will be first used during the 2022/23 National Boccia League season to enhance the experience of teams and players competing. The bespoke system has a range of features to improve the National Boccia League competition. These include the ability for teams to:

  • Propose and schedule fixtures
  • Manage matchday squads
  • Use scoreboards during matches
  • Record and report results to Boccia England on electronic scoresheets
  • View all group league table updated instantly as soon as results from matches have been submitted.

CompeteBoccia has a public facing page, which will allow boccia fans to view latest results and league group tables during the 2022/23 National Boccia League. Once the season starts later this month, this page can be accessed via the link below.

We are excited to launch the new platform. Boccia England’s Head of Development, Kate Moss, said:

“We are delighted to launch CompeteBoccia. Thank you to Rocca who have developed the software and brought the system to life for us. We believe the new system will enhance the experience of those involved in the league, streamlining the process for organising fixtures and making it more efficient, whilst also looking great on fixture days and adding real value to organisers and competitors. We hope all the teams enjoy using it during the new season.”

CompeteBoccia was tested by a few clubs over the summer, with the new online system being well received. Georgina Moore from GEM Boccia told us how the online system will support their team’s athletes during matches and said:

“I would say the CompeteBoccia system is crucial for preparing our teams if they reach the finals. Features like the scoreboard and match timings are imperative to all athletes in order to play a fair match. A lot of them rely on visual displays, so the fact we can put the scoreboard up on a screen will assist their understanding of the match.”

We have been pleased to work with Rocca Creative on this project.Talking about their collaborative work with us, Marc Rocca, CEO of Rocca said:

“The teams at Rocca and Boccia England have worked closely together for well over a year now on the Compete Boccia platform – mapping out user journeys and solving barriers to engagement. It’s this close collaboration that makes the perfect basis for innovation in sport, and the results now speak for themselves.”

CompeteBoccia will be used during Boccia England’s 2022/23 National Boccia League season. Ahead of the 2022/23 National Boccia League starting, Boccia England invite all National League teams and players to a webinar providing an overview of CompeteBoccia on Thursday 17th November at 6:30 PM, which will be hosted by George Bollands (Development Officer) and Daniel Smith (Competition Manger).
