We are delighted to share our new 2022-2032 strategy: Improving lives through boccia

Since becoming established in 2012 as a National Governing Body of the sport in England we have accomplished a great deal for boccia and have seen fantastic results.

2022 marks our ten-year anniversary and we understand the need for reflection as we look at our past achievements and look ahead to what is needed for the future.

We understand that the pandemic has had a huge impact on boccia opportunities, events and provision affecting everyone involved.  Our new strategy includes our aims to recover, strengthen our infrastructure whilst raising awareness and build partnerships to give everyone the opportunity to gain a positive experience of boccia.

Boccia is one of the few sports designed specifically for disabled people, and has so many fantastic benefits to health, wellbeing and more.

Our Chair Mark Gannon comments,

‘Our strategy is driven by an ambitious ambition; one where everyone has the opportunity to gain a positive experience of boccia. It’s for the sport and for us all, guaranteeing a sustainable successful future for boccia and the power to change all our lives for the better.’

What’s in our strategy?

Our strategy is made up of several parts that work together. As well as our overall vision, we have clear actions, our mission and three goals, which set out how we’ll achieve it.

Our Vision

Everyone has the opportunity to gain a positive experience of boccia.

Our Mission

To create positive, engaging and accessible opportunities for physically disabled people to play boccia.

CEO, Chris Ratcliffe said,

"We are excited about the future of our sport, and we look forward to building more opportunities for people to engage in boccia and making a real difference to people’s lives"
