Get involved Courses Young Officials' Award AIM To introduce the necessary skills and knowledge required to be an effective boccia official. The course has been designed to cover the important elements of refereeing a boccia game within the community. OUTCOME Provide a knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of an official Learn the rules of boccia and develop the necessary skills to apply these rules in a game situation Understand the structure of the officiating pathway TARGET AUDIENCE Suitable for 14-19 year olds. DURATION 4.5 hour tutor contact time (mainly practical with some elements of theory). Minimum of 2 hours practical in an officiating capacity. CAPACITY 10 -20 persons Fees TBC A £50 non-refundable deposit is payable upon booking. ORGANISERS Responsibilities Organisers: Booking an appropriate venue, sourcing equipment and enrolling delegates. Please notify Boccia England of the no. of delegates one week prior to the course. Boccia England: Provides the tutor, delegate pre-reading and resources and delegate certification. Requirements Sole use of an area large enough for 1 boccia court e.g. sports hall, dance studio. Sole use of a classroom environment for theory and discussion e.g. separate room, additional hall or court. The tutor will need access to the venue approximately one hour prior to the course start time.
