Get involved Courses Young Officials' Award AIM To introduce the necessary skills and knowledge required to be an effective boccia official. The course has been designed to cover the important elements of refereeing a boccia game within the community. OUTCOME Provide a knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of an official Learn the rules of boccia and develop the necessary skills to apply these rules in a game situation Understand the structure of the officiating pathway TARGET AUDIENCE Suitable for 14-19 year olds. DURATION 4.5 hours course (tutor contact time - mixture of practical and theory). Minimum 2 hours follow on activity within an officiating capacity to receive certification. CAPACITY 10 -20 persons WANT TO HOST A COURSE? Responsibilities Organisers: Booking an appropriate venue, sourcing equipment and enrolling delegates. Boccia England: Provides the tutor, delegate pre-reading and resources and delegate certification. Requirements Sole use of an area large enough for 1 boccia court e.g. sports hall, dance studio. Sole use of a classroom environment for theory and discussion e.g. separate room, additional hall or court.
