What a fantastic weekend! It was also a very busy one with the Teams and Pairs competition, AGM, and Boccia Awards ceremony all taking place across the weekend.

The action got underway on Saturday morning with day one of the Teams and Pairs competition. The competition brought together players from the 5 boccia academies, Gladiators, Hawks, Vipers, Scorpions, and Knights. We were also delighted to welcome teams from the home nations Scotland and Wales to the competition.

BC1/2 Teams, BC3 Pairs, and BC4 Pairs were played across 2 days, during which, we saw some very nail-biting matches!

The winners are as follows:

BC1/2 TEAMS COMPETITION:

Gold - England

Silver - Gladiators/Scorpions

Bronze - Knights

BC3 PAIRS COMPETITION:

A massive thank you to David Ross Sports Village for hosting the event, to our fantastic volunteer team for all your hard work, and to all athletes who competed.

The competition saw a great standard of play throughout and reports have been received advising that having the event, take place, over 2 days was worth doing. Thanks, from players and coaches, have also been received.

We would also like to thank the coaches who engaged with the Coach CPD on Friday – and to those who allowed others to shadow them. It was great to see coaches from different Academies and Nations and supporting each other and jointly improving their knowledge and skillset.

Thanks, have been received from Wales and Scotland to say how much they have benefitted from being involved this weekend - we look forward to seeing both teams compete again next year.

Last but by no means least - 'Congratulations' to Knights Academy who had the greatest number of athletes participating – 2 BC1/2 Teams, a BC3 Pair, one BC4 player and another 3 playing for England!

We hope you had a fantastic weekend and can’t wait to see you next year!
