FAQs

How do I enter?

This competition is invite only. Players qualify through the 3 BE Cup competitions and Heathcoat Cup Finals. Players that have qualified will be contacted by email.

Will a schedule of matches be available before the competition?

A provisional schedule is available here and the confirmed schedule will be published once all players have registered on Friday evening.

What time is registration?

Registration will be Friday evening between 6:30pm and 8:30pm which is also when your equipment will be checked.

Please view a venue map to plan your arrival. 

    

Where will equipment checks take place?

Equipment Checks will take place at EIS-Sheffield for Boccia Balls, Assistive Devices (ramps and head pointers etc) and wheelchairs. This is to ensure that all players are using equipment that meets the required guidelines as stated in the latest edition of the BISFed rules. All equipment must be checked before the competition starts.

Please also be aware that equipment is subject to random checks at any time during the competition at the discretion of the Head Referee. If equipment fails the random checks the player will be issued with a warning.

N.B. Our team of referees endeavour to complete checks as quickly as possible but if you arrive early you may experience a bit of a wait. Between 5:30pm and 6:30pm we experience high levels of players for equipment checks. We recommend you attend after 6:30pm to avoid the queues!

Will national classification be taking place?

Yes, classification will take place on Friday evening. You will be informed if you require classification and given a time slot. Classification takes place in seminar room 3 at EIS Sheffield. 

Can I store my equipment somewhere overnight?

Yes, there will be a room provided for players to store equipment. Please be aware this will not be locked so it is left at your own risk. 

Can I practice before my matches?

Practice courts will be available Friday evening, 7.30pm -9pm. The warm up area will be open from 8am on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May. 

Will there be a call up room?

Yes the full call room procedure will be followed, opening 30 minutes and closing 15 minutes before your scheduled match time.

What if I have any problems at the competition?

Can I buy lunch and refreshments on the day?

There is a cafe onsite , here are the opening times: 

Friday 17th May 3pm -7.30pm

Saturday 18th May 9am -5pm

Sunday 19th May 9am -5pm. 

How accessible is the venue?

We have teamed up with Mobiloo to provide a hoist and changing bench facility, this will be positioned next to the Basketball Hall. The venue also have accessible toilets. There are disabled parking bays in the sport facility car park and extra parking bays will be coned off. There will be stewards on the car park to direct you.

How can I travel to the venue?

Details of the venue location can be found at the top of this page. The nearest train station is Meadowhall Station.
