The Lord’s Taverners U19s
The Lord’s Taverners Under 19s Boccia programme aims to offer more competitive playing opportunities for young people with a physical disability, to play Boccia in schools.
This is part of The Lord’s Taverners Disability Sports Appeal and is designed to encourage and facilitate young people to play Boccia. The Lord’s Taverners is a national youth charity that gives young people with special needs, a sporting chance. They have made a pledge to support the development of junior Boccia.
Over 30 county school competitions will take place this year. Special schools and main stream schools can be involved this year by entering a team of 3-5 players with a physical disability into the county competitions (at least one must be a wheelchair user).
To support this each county will hold a Boccia Young Officials Course for young people aged 14-18 years, in order for them to officiate at the county competition and to gain their Boccia Young Officials Award.
The winning teams from the County Competitions will take part in one of 12 regional competitions. The winning regional teams will then have a further opportunity to compete in The Lord’s Taverners Under 19’s National Championship Final in March 2012.If you are interested in taking part and want more information, please use our Registration Form or Telephone 07817 364493.
